Zipline is hiring an Electrical Engineer, Production Test at our South San Francisco site. You will own end-to-end production testers and calibration stations, delivering high-throughput test flows for aircraft, dock, pod, and subassembly builds.

You will lead cross-functional launches, define acceptance criteria, and push for measurable improvements in yield, cycle time, and tester uptime while spending significant time onsite on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production test systems, automated test equipment, or end-of-line testers for electro-mechanical or mechatronic products.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience preferred.
• BS in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on shop-floor experience with instrumentation, signal measurement, and PCBA debugging.
• Strong test automation experience: Python preferred; LabVIEW, TestStand, or embedded test frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Develop instrumentation, harnesses, connectors, DAQ, power delivery, and electrical test interfaces with focus on signal and power integrity.
• Debug PCBA-level failures and establish pass/fail limits with design/quality partners.
• Own production testers and calibration stations from requirements to validation and continuous improvement.
• Define tester acceptance criteria and production release criteria in partnership with design, quality, and operations.
• Architect and implement testers including harnessing, DAQ, sensors/actuators, power systems, safety interlocks, and fixtures.
• Implement test automation and data pipelines (Python, LabVIEW/TestStand) for high-throughput test flows and dashboards.
• Improve yield, reduce false fails, increase tester uptime, and report progress monthly.
• Troubleshoot escalations on the floor and coordinate cross-functional launches.
• Identify scalable tester architectures and automation that reduce operator steps and standardize interfaces.
• Produce and maintain test documentation for production readiness and traceability.
