Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Database Security Automation Engineer / Database Security Developer to join our security engineering team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will automate database security tasks, collect entitlements and login data across RDBMS/NoSQL platforms, and certify security controls.

The role emphasizes remediation of access drift, password vaulting, and encryption controls, with collaboration in Agile ceremonies and Jira/Horizon tooling. A hybrid onsite schedule applies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python, Unix/KSH, and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or other RDBMS.
• Experience certifying security controls in software/products.
• Proven automation in database security domains.
• Knowledge of identity, access management, monitoring, encryption.
• Familiar with Jira and Horizon.

Responsibilities

• Engineer solutions to collect database entitlements and login data across enterprise RDBMS and NoSQL platforms.
• Design and implement process automation for IAM, password vaulting, activity monitoring, and encryption controls.
• Develop test cases and certification workflows to validate database security products and configurations.
• Detect and remediate dormancy, revocations, and access drift in line with security policies.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and manage work through Jira and Horizon tools.
• Partner with stakeholders to define standards and produce documentation for engineered controls.
