Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Cloud Automation Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role focuses on building secure, compliant cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure using Terraform, with automation in Python and Ansible.

The position is hybrid with on-site requirements in Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC, or Jersey City, NJ, and is contract-based for 11 months. The work involves designing end-to-end streaming solutions and collaborating with security, operations, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in cloud engineering or automation roles.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform for AWS and Azure Infrastructure as Code.
• Python and Ansible for automation, including Playbooks and Tower.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and managed streaming services (AWS MSK, Azure Event Hubs, Kinesis).
• Baseline Linux/UNIX scripting and system fundamentals.
• Cloud security fundamentals, including IAM and certificate management.
• Experience with Agile development practices and collaborative delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code for AWS and Azure using Terraform.
• Build automation with Python and Ansible, including Ansible Playbooks and Tower, to enable secure, repeatable deployments.
• Engineer and support managed streaming services including AWS MSK, Azure Event Hubs, and Kinesis Data Streams.
• Create testing frameworks, troubleshoot integration issues, and drive end-to-end delivery with application, engineering, security, and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards such as ITAM, IAM, MRF, and GIS Security Baseline.
• Implement monitoring and observability using platforms such as Dynatrace and AppDynamics.
• Support large-scale enterprise deployments across internal and external cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and automation using Python and Ansible and a proven ability to design, build, and deliver secure, compliant, and repeatable cloud infrastructure and streaming solutions.

Additional Role Details

Start: This role requires a specific start date. Candidates must be able to meet the outlined start date.

Work model: Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

Approved locations: Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; Jersey City, NJ. Ensure correct rates per location.
