Job summary

Mars is seeking a Sr. Engineering Project Manager - Controls to lead digitalization and automation initiatives across its U.S. manufacturing footprint.

This role focuses on multi-million dollar capital projects, integrating Industry 4.0 technologies with robust controls networks and MES/MOM interfaces. The successful candidate will manage scoping, design, vendor coordination, and handover to operations, driving projects from inception to successful commissioning while collaborating with controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in a comparable technical position OR 10+ Controls experience in Food & Beverage industries
• Knowledge of LV electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, and HMI/SCADA interfaces (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• MES/MOM systems familiarity a plus
• Experience managing capital projects including scheduling, budgeting and contractor management
• Willingness to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple capital investment projects from scoping to handover
• Oversee system integration of digitalization and automation within existing manufacturing facilities
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and internal teams for on-time delivery
• Collaborate with controls and IT/automation engineers to tailor solutions
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety and quality guidelines
• Manage project risks and handoffs to operations
• Maintain stakeholder communication and budget/resource oversight
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to end users
• Negotiate vendor contracts and manage supplier relationships
