Job summary

Mars is seeking a Sr. Regional Project Engineer to lead controls, automation and digital projects across the Snacking North America Engineering team.

The role spans ideation to closure, with responsibility for electrical, controls, Factory IT, physical automation and Digital Plant Technology systems. You will guide large capital projects, develop control concepts and equipment specs, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while collaborating across multiple sites and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inElectrical, Mechanical, Chemical or relevant Engineering field.
• 5–10+ years in a comparable technical role in food/beverage/pharma or related industry.
• Basic understanding of engineering principals across Process, Packaging, Electrical, Controls, Automation, Construction or Computer Services.
• In-depth understanding of designated functional engineering area (controls, process, packaging)
• Up to 50% travel depending on project demands.
• Master's degree in Controls/Electrical/Electronics preferred; MBA or PMP certification; 8+ years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop control systems for automating manufacturing processes and packaging systems.
• Deliver projects to the business that provide a competitive advantage.
• Control Systems design: developing control concepts, functional and equipment specs.
• Direct modifications, installation and integration of electrical, controls, Factory IT, physical automation, and Digital Plant Technology systems.
• Ensure delivery of objectives for scope, time, budget and cash flow.
• Maintain project adherence to scope, deliverables and critical success factors.
• Communicate with the project steering team to achieve objectives.
• Apply technologies to gain and sustain a technical competitive advantage.
• Design systems and select hardware or direct third-party engineering and system integrator firms.
