Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking automation and controls professionals to lead and support the integration of automated equipment across our manufacturing ecosystem in Huntsville. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.

Ideal candidates have extensive hands-on experience with PLCs (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), robotics, vision systems, and electrical/mechanical drawings, plus a strong safety culture and collaboration mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience installing, troubleshooting or maintaining equipment in manufacturing.
• Proficient with MS Office and ERP-based shop floor systems.
• Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience troubleshooting automation and robot programs (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA).
• Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Strong communication and safety-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support the install and integration of new automated equipment into the manufacturing ecosystem at Blue.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams responding to emergent equipment issues.
• Manage Automation shop including inventory, kitting and 5S.
• Mechanical and electrical assembly and fabrication.
• Diagnosis, troubleshooting and modification of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and safety control systems.
• Diagnosis, troubleshooting and modification of PLC, Vision and Robot programs.
• Identification and escalation of automation continuous improvement opportunities.
