Job summary

Staff Financial Group is seeking a driven Controls Technician to support and improve PLC-based automation in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot and optimize electrical controls, HMIs, and vision systems, collaborating with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to boost reliability and quality.

The role emphasizes hands-on CNC-like control work, equipment integration, and data-driven process improvements, with standard weekday hours and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control panel documentation.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs and HMIs is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based automation systems.
• Develop and optimize PLC logic, HMIs, and networked controls.
• Support Allen-Bradley platforms and related automation tech.
• Assist commissioning, startup, and integration of new equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and sensor issues.
• Perform root cause analysis to reduce downtime and waste.
• Support preventive maintenance and integrity of control documents.
• Interface vision systems with PLCs and manufacturing equipment.
• Provide training and technical support to Maintenance and Operations.
