Job summary

Schwan's Company in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Technician to calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical instrumentation across the plant. You will program and manage PLC systems (PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) using RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and PanelView 32 to support and enhance plant automation.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant industrial controls experience.
Proficient in Ethernet networking for industrial systems.
In-depth knowledge of PLC platforms including PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix.
Skilled with control software interfaces like FactoryTalk View Studio, RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, PanelView 32.
Able to lift up to 90 lbs, obtain forklift license, and follow OSHA and company safety rules.

Responsibilities

Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical instrumentation for accurate control systems.
Program, modify, and manage PLC systems using RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, and related tools.
Maintain and document industrial Ethernet networks ensuring IT/OT integration.
Diagnose and repair complex electrical/mechanical issues including ladder logic edits and VFD programming.
Develop and implement HMI applications and optimize equipment performance.
