Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking an Automation/Controls Technician to join our team in Lincon, NH. You will work with engineers and technicians to assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot custom automation equipment featuring robots, lasers, dial indexers, and more.

Responsibilities include interpreting designs from SolidWorks, organizing materials, and managing projects while learning PLC robotic coding and basic electrical/mechanical maintenance.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in a mechanic/manufacturing/machinist environment.
• Hands-on skills you might learn from repairing equipment, machining, fabrication, etc. is a strong bonus.
• AS in engineering/technology would also be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret designs with automation engineers and help bring designs to life.
• Study SolidWorks drawings, sketches, models to move forward with building equipment.
• Manage projects including organization and cleaning.
• Organize incoming materials from the machine shop and vendors for assigned projects.
• Calculate dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly methods.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
• Lift machine parts and position/secure parts on work surfaces.
• Assemble parts into assemblies and mechanisms.
• Wire and plumb machines with guidance from engineers or technicians.
• Set up, use, and troubleshoot basic automation electronics such as sensors, VFDs.
• Experience with machine tools like lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment to machine parts.
• Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications.
• Attend training to expand knowledge of programming and machine maintenance (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, PLC Robotic coding).
