Overview

Assist the Automation Controls Engineer and Maintenance team with troubleshooting, projects, and modifying existing PLC programs and control systems.

Responsibilities

1. Support the development of automation projects from a technical perspective and through business intelligence.
2. Troubleshoot and install components of control systems, such as analog inputs/outputs, photo-eyes, switches, motor drives, and servo motors.
3. Read, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical schematics.
4. Edit, download, and upload programs in RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, and Studio 5000.
5. Utilize Allen Bradley suites, ME Transfer tool, Factory Talk Linx Network Browser, RS Linx Classic, and other platforms.
6. Understand system networking and troubleshoot from a networking perspective.
7. Diagnose ladder logic problems and support maintenance.
8. Follow safety policies, including lockout-tagout, hot work permits, and confined space procedures.
9. Participate in corporate responsibility programs and maintain food safety standards.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related electrical/software technical field and 3 years of experience in ladder logic, networking, and controls systems.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, tags, symbols, and experience with Siemens Step 7, Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000, and Ladder Logic.
• Experience with P&ID design, instrument data sheets, wiring, conduit routing, and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, sit, and communicate in person or via telephone.
• Handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Visual abilities include close, distance, depth, and color vision, with exposure to loud, humid, or cold environments.
