Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking an entry level Automation Technician to support manufacturing operations at our Ohio site.

The role involves equipment startup, PLC/HMI programming, and troubleshooting of control systems on rotating shifts (36/48 hours) with every other weekend work. The candidate should have 2+ years in manufacturing electrical/electronics or 5+ years with no degree, and preferably an Associate or Bachelor's in Electrical/Industrial Controls.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls experience.
Associate/Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial Controls, or Electronic Engineering (preferred).
No Degree - Must have 5+ years verifiable experience in a related field (i.e., Semiconductors, Automotive).

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing facilities and remote global operations.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.
Assist with coordination of new equipment installation and MES integration events.
Maintain and update manufacturing process tool electrical drawings; document equipment changes.
Implement software changes/upgrades specified by Controls Engineering.
Identify, research, and present solutions to control problems and continuous improvements.
Interface with multiple departments within the organization.
Maintain effective communications and teamwork.
Adhere to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
