Job summary

First Solar is seeking an entry-level Automation Technician to support manufacturing operations, assist with equipment implementation/startup, PLC/HMI programming, and trouble-shooting/optimization of control systems.

The role will be assigned to a manufacturing schedule on either AM or PM crew; AM shift is 6:00 AM–6:10 PM and PM shift 6:00 PM–6:10 AM, with a rotating 36/48 hour week and every other Fri/Sat/Sun.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls.
• Reading electrical/mechanical drawings and suggest modifications.
• Proficient in troubleshooting electrical/electronic control systems in manufacturing.
• Experience with AutoCAD for electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Knowledge of Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing facilities and remote global operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems on equipment.
• Assist with new equipment installation, startup, and MES integration events.
• Maintain and update electrical drawings, document changes.
• Implement software changes as directed by Controls Engineering.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and ensure safety standards.
