Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to support automation and controls initiatives, driving Industry 4.0 objectives on the factory floor. You will oversee daily operations, ensure equipment uptime, collect data, and deploy automation solutions in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, on-site technical support, and continuous improvement, with a focus on safety and cross-functional teamwork within a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational program or equivalent in Automation Technology or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in automation, controls, industrial systems, or manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, HMIs, and sensors; ability to interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day automation and manufacturing system operations to maximize uptime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements on schedule and within budget.
• Provide on-the-floor technical support, troubleshooting, and hands-on execution of automation solutions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, and connected equipment for high availability.
• Coordinate scheduling, onboarding, and supervision of on-site contractor work.
• Update system documentation and maintain accurate control records.
