United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer to own the production line hardware for advanced on-orbit AI processing and data center workloads. You will oversee design, assembly, integration, and testing of compute electronics, memory, and networking components.

The role emphasizes building reliable automation for high-volume manufacturing, with focus on safety, documentation, and scalable control architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering, physics, or CS
• 1+ years in industrial or factory automation design or development
• Experience with electromechanical systems
• Knowledge of ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage automation projects from ideation to hand-off
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code for high-volume manufacturing
• Implement ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant safety systems for robots and conveyors
• Create simple, intuitive HMI screens for complex machines
• Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, UL508A
• Create schedules and budgets and drive the team to meet them
