Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC, creator of the Starmind constellation, seeks an Automation and Controls Engineer to join the team working on high-performance, in-space compute hardware. The role covers design, build, and testing of automation for the manufacturing line, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

You will develop PLC code, build robust electrical systems, and ensure proper integration with工业-grade equipment, sensors, and networks in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science.
• 1+ years of experience in industrial or factory automation design and implementation or related project experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage automation projects from ideation to hand-off to operations.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code with structured, maintainable standards.
• Ensure safety by implementing ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant systems for robots, conveyors, and manufacturing equipment.
• Create simple, intuitive HMI screens to simplify operation and troubleshooting.
• Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, UL508A regulations.
• Create schedules and budgets and lead the team to achieve them.
