Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Sr. Automation & Controls Engineer for Starlink assembly manufacturing. You will lead multi‑discipline projects from ideation through commissioning, wiring, and safety compliance, delivering high‑rate production capabilities.

You’ll design control architectures, write robust PLC code, and develop HMI interfaces to simplify complex machines. Expect travel up to 10% and a strong focus on safety standards and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, physics, or computer science discipline.
Experience in industrial or factory automation design and implementation.
Familiarity with ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA safety standards for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and manage automation projects from ideation to hand-off to operations.
Architect and debug PLC code with an emphasis on maintainable, reusable solutions.
Ensure safety and compliance for robots, gantries, conveyors, and equipment.
Create simple, effective HMI screens for complex machinery operation.
Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A.
Develop schedules and budgets and lead the team to meet targets.
