Zusammenfassung

Sika Corporation is seeking a Controls Engineer to support Marion Operations. You will design, program, and maintain PLC-based controls, HMI, robotics, and networks, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires hands-on development, troubleshooting, and project ownership from CARs to implementation. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in manufacturing, strong PLC/robotics experience, and knowledge of OSHA standards.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in engineering with electrical/mechanical/chemical focus.
• 3-5 years in manufacturing with automation, PLCs, and packaging equipment.
• Read, write, speak and comprehend English clearly.
• Strong math skills and ability to troubleshoot processes.
• Experience with OSHA regulations and documentation.

Aufgaben

• Participate in the Sika SAFE Program.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment as per policy.
• Manage vendors and contractors to meet safety standards and project timelines.
• Design, develop, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems, HMIs, robotics, and networks.
• Develop and support PLC programs using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent platforms.
• Configure and troubleshoot VFDs, servo systems, safety PLCs, and industrial networks.
• Interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment specs.
• Tune PID loops and optimize control strategies for equipment.
• Manage projects from start to finish including CARs, budgets, timelines, and reporting.
• Implement changes to production processes to increase output and reduce bottlenecks.
• Review layouts to obtain optimal performance and implement changes.
• Identify mixing/packaging systems and other automated solutions to drive improvements.
• Gather lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
• Program and support automated systems including vision systems.
• Create procedures, documentation, routings, and related records.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operators, R&D, QA, supply management, and leadership.
• Serve as technical expert in controls and mentor others.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support automation strategy.
• Perform other work as required by the Maintenance & Engineering Manager.
