Job summary

BW Design Group seeks a Controls Engineer in the Atlanta area to support capital projects and implement automation solutions for clients. You will work both independently and in teams to design, troubleshoot, and commission control systems, including PLCs and HMI/SCADA platforms.

You’ll interface with clients and vendors, document designs, and help ensure successful turnovers of systems. You should have a minimum of three years in automated manufacturing environments, a strong foundation in

Qualifications

Minimum of three years as a controls engineer in automated manufacturing.
Experience designing automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA).
Strong understanding of UL508A panel design and fabrication.
Knowledge of instrumentation and controls (I&C).
Experience with field instrumentation, control system installation, and configuration.
Familiarity with machine safety, electrical power distribution, and control panel design.
Strong written and verbal technical communication; report writing and presentations.
Willingness to travel for project requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop automation solutions and participate in design, configuration, testing and commissioning of high-speed manufacturing processes.
Design automation control systems and create project documentation and drawings.
Diagnose automation problems and interface with teams, clients and vendors.
Configure software and hardware packages according to client design specs.
Program PLCs and various HMI/SCADA systems.
Communicate plan progress to stakeholders and manage project delivery.
Oversee site construction, installation and start-up of integrated control systems.
Validate and commission facility systems and turnover to customer.
