Job summary

PeakLogix, an Alta Equipment company, is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to design and implement PLC-based control systems for large-scale automated pick-pack-ship lines. The role involves on-site installation and testing, as well as collaboration with sales, engineering and project management to deliver tailored automation solutions.

Candidates should have 3+ years in electrical engineering, hands-on PLC programming with Allen Bradley and Siemens hardware, and experience with wiring

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• 3+ years proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years’ experience developing automation software using Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC hardware and software.
• 2+ years’ experience with troubleshooting and commissioning PLC solutions.
• Experience performing I/O checkout and wiring verification.
• Willing to travel 25 to 35% of the time to customer sites.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Execute system projects including control programs and panel builds.
• Design PLC cabinets, program PLCs, generate BOM, source materials.
• On-site installation and testing with Engineering and Project Management.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering and PM to design solutions.
• Lead technical liaison with clients and coordinate with external vendors.
