Job summary

PeakLogix, an Alta Equipment company, is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on PLC control design, cabinet building, and on-site installations for conveyor and automated systems.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management, design and test PLC programs using Allen Bradley and Siemens hardware, generate BOMs, and support large-scale pick-pack-ship lines.

Travel 25-35% and be on-site during installations; East Coast location preferred.

Qualifications

3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
3+ years proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent.
2+ years’ experience developing automation software using Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC hardware and software.
2+ years’ experience with troubleshooting and commissioning PLC solutions.
Experience performing I/O checkout and wiring verification.
Willing to travel 25 to 35% of the time to customer sites.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Systems Project execution including development of control programs and interfaces for conveyor and automated devices.
Designing and testing PLC control cabinets and generating BOMs.
Source materials and parts to support manufacturing of designed systems.
Lead technical liaison with clients and coordinate with sales, engineering and project management.
On-site installation and testing of solutions at customer sites.
