Job summary

PeakLogix, an Alta Equipment company, is seeking a skilled Automation Controls Engineer to lead PLC programming, control cabinet design, and system integration for high‑throughput automation projects.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering and project management to deliver turnkey conveyor and AS/RS solutions, including on-site installation and testing. Strong communication and travel readiness are essential for coordinating with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
2+ years’ experience developing automation software using Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC hardware and software.
2+ years’ experience with troubleshooting and commissioning PLC solutions.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent.
Willing to travel 25–35% of the time to customer sites.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop control programs and system interfaces for conveyor and automated devices.
Design and test PLC control cabinets; generate BOM and source materials.
Lead PLC-based controls projects, interfacing with clients and project managers.
Collaborate with sales, engineering and PM to translate requirements into designs.
On-site installation and testing of solutions; ensure design approval and documentation.
