Job summary

Bosch Charleston is seeking a skilled engineer to lead software development, PLC programming, and IT infrastructure within automated manufacturing. You will drive investigations, trials, and improvements across processes, set up equipment for testing, and create comprehensive manufacturing docs and quality plans.

You will mentor teams, manage cross-functional projects, and leverage MES/data to push safety, cost, quality, and delivery performance. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Controls, Automation, Electrical, or Mechanical) with 3+ years of technical experience.
• Hands-on experience with highly automated equipment technologies (CNC, robots, vision systems).
• Reading electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic drawings and related design work.
• Experience with PLC programming and web technologies (C#, Python, HTML/JavaScript).
• Data analytics experience using PowerBI or Tableau; relational databases (MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle).
• Ability to travel internationally for training and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development, PLC programming and IT infrastructure projects in manufacturing.
• Perform investigations, trials, and improvements in automated processes.
• Set up machines and devices for investigations as indicated.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans.
• Identify and resolve quality issues in automated equipment.
• Mentor hourly associates in proactive maintenance and training.
• Lead projects to improve safety, cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
• Participate in daily area management using MES and data analytics.
