Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring an Automation and Controls Engineer for Starlink gateways in Bastrop, TX. The role focuses on in-house factory automation, machine design, robotics, and health monitoring to deliver fast, reliable manufacturing capabilities.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will design and implement automated systems, write PLC code, ensure safety compliance, and create intuitive HMI interfaces while managing project schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science.
Experience designing and delivering high-volume manufacturing automation.
Strong problem-solving with safe, compliant industrial systems.
Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and manage automation projects - includes ideation, commissioning, and hand-off to operations.
Architect, write, and debug PLC code with maintainable structure.
Implement ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant safety for robots, gantries, conveyors, and equipment.
Create simple, effective HMI screens for complex machines.
Design electrical systems compliant to NEC, NFPA, UL508A.
Maintain schedules and budgets and motivate the team.
