Job summary

Michigan Automotive Compressor, Inc. (MACI) in Michigan is seeking a Controls Engineer to improve automation on production machines. You will work in a cross-functional team to develop creative solutions and support manufacturing.

Responsibilities include PLC/robot/HMI controls, pneumatics, documentation using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and light mechanical design. A bachelor’s in engineering and 2–4 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Two to four years of related work experience with Allen Bradley PLCs; robot programming; and vision systems.
• Excellent analytical ability and the ability to communicate effectively with people of all skillsets.
• Strong knowledge of automation system design and their function.

Responsibilities

• Manage controls based improvement items on automation equipment that contains PLCs, robots, HMIs, pneumatics and machine networks.
• Support other engineers and maintenance technicians in the group with their projects.
• Provide secondary support for machine breakdowns.
• Update documentation as needed for changes made to the equipment or process using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Provide light mechanical design functions to support controls projects.
