Position Brand Description:

Indy Device Manufacturing (IDM) is responsible for manufacturing medical devices and delivering custom automated assembly equipment. These systems support new product launches, capacity expansions, and line extensions across Lilly sites and contract manufacturing partners globally.

Role Overview:

Automation Asset Delivery Engineers focus on the design, delivery, and validation of device assembly equipment, emphasizing automated control and electrical systems. They collaborate with OEMs and internal teams to develop and implement best practices, integrate systems like SCADA and MES, and support manufacturing readiness for new devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, deliver, and validate automated control and electrical systems for manufacturing equipment.
  2. Ensure compliance with standards such as NFPA 79/UL508A and safety regulations.
  3. Develop and execute validation activities, including computer system validation and risk assessments.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with OEMs to resolve technical issues.
  5. Document research, develop technical reports, and support process improvements.
  6. Participate in manufacturing readiness activities for new device launches.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial controls.
  • Experience with programmable control systems (PLCs, HMIs, vision robots).
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and automated equipment delivery.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in medical devices, SCADA, MES, and computer system validation.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell control systems, Cognex vision, and industrial networks.
  • Knowledge of regulated pharmaceutical environments and project management.
