Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a controls and automation engineer in Mobile, AL. You will perform routine design for DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS projects under supervision and assist in larger automation tasks, with on-site startup support.

You will review vendor drawings, generate installation documents, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure on-time project delivery. A PE is preferred; EIT is required, with 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is required; PE preferred upon eligibility.
Minimum 1 year of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation engineering.
Ability to understand and implement ISA S88 programming standards.
Ability to understand IEC 61131 programming languages and standards.
Knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 Management of Change.

Responsibilities

Perform routine design of less complex engineering assignments for DCS/PLC/HMI/SIS systems under supervision.
Assist in design of larger automation projects and lead smaller projects as experience grows.
Provide on-site assistance during startup and field data collection.
Produce control system installation documents and vendor drawing reviews.
Coordinate activities across staff and other leaders to ensure timely completion.
