Job summary

ONEOK is seeking a Control Systems Specialist/Engineer to design and support PLC and HMI programs for refinery operations, including commissioning of new facilities and troubleshooting existing systems. The role sits within Controls Technology and requires applying advanced theory to solve complex automation challenges.

You will work under limited supervision, participate in project life cycles, provide Tier 2 technical support to Operations, and ensure cybersecurity practices for OT devices.

Qualifications

• Technical or engineering degree preferred; substantial direct experience may be considered.
• Experience with PLC/HMI programming in OT/ICS environments is highly valued.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Designs/creates PLC and HMI programs for new or maintenance projects.
• Assist operations/commercial/engineering with control system analysis.
• Investigates new technology to reduce costs and improve automation.
• Ensure OT cybersecurity through secure deployment of devices.
• Provide project management for assigned automation projects per lifecycle.
• Develop and deliver training for operations on new equipment.
• Provide Tier 2 support for controls, instrumentation, and network systems.
• DOT/PHMSA related duties may apply and require readiness for safety-critical response.
