Job summary

ONEOK, Inc. seeks an Automation Technician/PLC Programmer in Midland (or Odessa), TX. You will maintain and optimize BPCS, SIS, DCS, and PLC platforms, develop control narratives, and support project implementations with engineers and operators.

A technical degree and 3–5 years of PLC/DCS experience are preferred. Responsibilities include after-hours support, documentation, and collaboration with I/E, instrumentation, and control room teams to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a technical degree or certification in process and instrumentation controls.
• 3–5 years of related industrial programming or strong electrical/instrumentation skills with programming ability.
• Experience modifying, maintaining and installing process control software and hardware (BPCS, SIS, DCS/PLC, HMI).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot BPCS, SIS, DCS, and PLC platforms daily.
• Program and archive control logic; ensure latest programs are available.
• Develop and document best practices for DCS/PLC systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians on lifecycle assessments and project needs.
• Assist with vendor and 3rd party integrator coordination for system work.
• Support safety, operations, and compliance through control improvements.
