Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Automation Engineering Technician for a contract-to-hire role in Columbus, OH. The technician will calibrate instruments and process control equipment, document results in the CMMS, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI logic to ensure proper operation.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering and hands-on experience with calibration standards, NFPA 70E familiarity is a plus, and a commitment to quality in a regulated manufacturing

Qualifications

Experience performing calibrations on measurement devices and sensors.
Strong troubleshooting skills for PLC and electrical systems.
Familiarity with calibration and maintenance workflows.

Responsibilities

Perform calibrations of inspection, measurement, and test equipment per work instructions.
Record results in CMMS or Calibration Data Management System.
Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions such as adjustments or replacements.
Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to ensure reliable performance.
Monitor PLC or HMI logic during certifications or troubleshooting to understand deviations.
