Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, is seeking an Automated Test Engineer to lead validation testing for rotating equipment, including pumps and compressors. You will develop, execute, and troubleshoot tests, work with Product Engineering, Operations, and Quality, and own test data acquisition systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 3+ years in test or controls engineering, U.S. citizenship for security clearances, and the ability to analyze data and generate reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Controls or related engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience in test engineering, controls engineering, instrumentation, validation engineering, or related role within manufacturing.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain required government security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and execute validation testing for vacuum pumps, compressors, packaged systems, and related rotating equipment.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve product or test-system issues discovered during validation to support successful product qualification and release.
• Serve as the technical owner of motors, VFDs, DC drives, PLCs, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems while ensuring accurate, reliable testing.
• Maintain and improve LabVIEW applications, National Instruments hardware, instrumentation systems, and test infrastructure while supporting future automation and test cell capability development.
• Analyze test data and performance trends and partner with Product Engineering to validate designs, evaluate performance, and support continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Create and improve test procedures, validation methods, calibration plans, and standard work instructions to enhance testing efficiency, repeatability, and product quality.
• Generate engineering development reports, nonconformance reports, engineering change requests, product performance reports, and other technical documentation.
• Communicate test setups, methods, results, conclusions, and recommendations to engineering, operations, customers, leadership teams, and third-party inspectors.
