Shift options vary and pay starts at $20/hour with an additional $2/hour shift differential for night hours. The role requires a science degree and lab experience, with strong data entry and quality focus.

Qualifications

• Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) required.
• Strong hand-eye coordination required.

Responsibilities

• Load specimens using automated chemistry instrumentation.
• Assist with instrument calibration, quality control (QC) review, and initial analytical review.
• Document preparations to fulfill compliance requirements.
• Prepare and restock reagents and buffers as needed.
• Perform routine operations including start-up of equipment and verification of calibrations, controls, reagents and levels.
• Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Review test results for release; document discrepancies and rectify errors.
• Maintain records for specimen preparation and chain-of-custody handling.
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and PHI safeguards.

Location: Indianapolis, IN

We are seeking a self-motivated Full-Time Automated Chemistry Lab Technician to join our Laboratory Operations team. In this role, you will assist with analysis of biological specimens including urine and oral fluid (saliva). This position is also responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated chemistry instrumentation.

Shift: Various shifts available (to be discussed during the interview process)

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

Primary Responsibilities

• Load specimens using automated chemistry instrumentation
• Assist with instrument calibration, quality control (QC) review, and initial analytical review
• Documenting all preparations to fulfill compliance requirements
• Prepare and restock reagents and buffers as needed
• Perform routine operations including start of the day equipment initiation, verification of calibrations controls, reagents and reagent levels
• Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of laboratory supplies
• Review test results for release. Documents discrepancies, exceptions and unusual trends. Researches and rectifies errors
• Maintain accurate records associated with specimen preparation, including proper chain of custody handling and storage requirements
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and decontamination procedures
• Maintain strict safeguards related to Protected Health Information (PHI)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical/Pre-Med)
• Laboratory experience preferred
• Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) required
• Strong hand-eye coordination required
