Job summary

Cordant Health Solutions in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Automated Chemistry Technician for Laboratory Operations. This full‑time role runs Monday–Friday, 4:00pm–12:30am, with a $20.00/hour base pay plus a $2.00/hour shift differential for evening and overnight hours.

The position requires a 4-year science degree, strong data entry, and the ability to work in a high‑volume lab with strict QA and PHI handling. Prior lab experience is preferred, and candidates must lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical/Pre‑Med) required.
• Laboratory experience preferred.
• Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) required.
• Strong hand‑eye coordination required.
• Ability to work in a high‑volume environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25lbs, bend, and carry as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load specimens using automated chemistry instrumentation.
• Assist with instrument calibration, quality control review, and initial analytical review.
• Document all preparations to fulfill compliance requirements.
• Prepare and restock reagents and buffers as needed.
• Perform routine operations including start‑of‑day equipment initiation, verification of calibrations, controls, reagents, and reagent levels.
• Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Review test results for release; document discrepancies, exceptions, and unusual trends; research and rectify errors.
• Maintain accurate records associated with specimen preparation, including proper chain of custody handling and storage requirements.
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and decontamination procedures.
• Maintain strict safeguards related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
