Job summary

Actalent in York, PA is seeking an Industrial Detailer/Drafter to develop detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel and related components in heavy industrial projects. This full-time role collaborates with project managers, fabrication teams, and shop personnel to ensure accurate execution.

The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years detailing experience, proficiency with AutoCAD, and the ability to read complex drawings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in CAD Technology, Drafting, or Engineering Technology.
• 1–5 years detailing experience in structural steel, fabrication, or industrial construction.
• Experience creating shop and erection drawings.
• Knowledge of AISC standards and AWS welding standards.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop, fabrication, and erection drawings for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, plate weldments, and mechanical components.
• Interpret construction, engineering, and mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Develop fabrication drawings from project and design documents.
• Generate and respond to RFIs throughout the detailing process.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and shop personnel to optimize fabrication and field installation.
• Review project comments and revise drawings as needed prior to fabrication.
• Support reverse engineering efforts and develop solutions for custom industrial applications.
• Ensure drawing accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
