Job summary

Winsted, a leader in control room solutions, is seeking a CAD Designer in Eagan, MN to draft and develop layout and assembly drawings for technical furniture and control rooms. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to push designs from concept to production.

Responsibilities include producing conceptual layouts, detailing existing and new products, revising drawings, and maintaining BOMs with revision control while applying GD&T standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or completion of related technical trade school courses, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of CAD drafting or design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting, detailing, and layout).
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical design and drafting practices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce manufacturing drawings, including sheet metal, weldment, and casework details.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD layout and assembly designs for technical furniture and control rooms.
• Produce CAD conceptual designs, layout and detail drawings of existing and new products.
• Revise and redraw production drawings of existing standard products.
• Collaborate with sales to create and detail modified designs of existing products to meet customer needs.
• Create and maintain bills of material, part numbers, and revision‑controlled drawing records in accordance with Winsted engineering standards.
• Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability before release, and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Apply and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) on component and assembly drawings.
• Other duties as assigned.
