Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is hiring a Drafter in Worthington, MN to create model drawings and detailed construction drawings for homes. You will perform calculations to support designs and ensure compliance with US building codes.

The role involves CAD work, collaboration with sales, and submission to third-party agencies, with a focus on accurate drafting and coordination across teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or two to five years’ AutoCAD experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2015 or newer and MS Office.
• Ability to read specs, sketches, and building codes in the US.

Responsibilities

• Creates designs from rough sketches, drawings, and specifications.
• Drafts detailed construction drawings and installations (walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, etc.).
• Uses CAD software to create detail drawings.
• Drafts detailed construction drawings of houses and installations.
• Submits drawings to sales and third-party agencies for approvals.
• Familiar with commercial and residential building codes in the US.
• Confers with Production and Quality Control to resolve design issues.
• Lays out and modifies home arrangements and interconnections.
• Generates calculations for analysis of designs using approved software.
