Auto Telephone Claims Adjuster I, II or Sr - National General

Job Description

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex automobile accidents. Determines coverage, liability, damages, and negotiates claims within authority limits. Mentors junior employees.

This is a remote auto claims adjuster role. The ideal candidate will have experience in auto claims handling and can sit in the Western or Central Time Zone.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Determines subrogation or fraud potential and handles complex cases accordingly.
  2. Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies, industry standards, and organizational relationships.
  3. Handles investigation of all aspects of complex auto claims with discretion and independence.
  4. For injury claims, reviews, evaluates, and negotiates moderate to complex injury claims.
  5. Recognizes vehicle body parts and potential property damage.
  6. Identifies customer needs and meets them using appropriate customer service skills.

Education

4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience

3+ years of auto claims handling experience (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

No supervisory duties.

Education & Experience (in lieu)

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation

Base salary ranges from $52,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Total compensation may include incentive pay such as bonuses or commissions.
