Job summary

Leeds West Groups is seeking a General Service Technician to join our auto service team in Peoria, IL. The role emphasizes integrity, teamwork, customer service, and strong diagnostic and repair knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs, using diagnostic tools and manuals to ensure quality and safety, while communicating findings to staff and customers. Onsite, with up to 25% travel between local stores.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, filter replacements) to ensure vehicle reliability.
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or safety needs.
• Complete repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Use diagnostic equipment and computerized systems to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and industry standards for quality and safety.
• Perform quality control checks and test-drives to verify repairs.
• Communicate repair recommendations and costs to customers and staff.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment per OSHA and company policies.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and management to coordinate workflow.
• Adhere to safety policies and participate in continuous learning about industry trends.
