Job summary

Commercial Tire in Meridian, Idaho is seeking an Auto Service Tech Level 3 to inspect and service vehicles, perform preventive maintenance, tire rotation and alignments, and ensure quality workmanship.

You will work as part of a team, mentor junior techs, quote repairs, and maintain safety standards; ASE A4/A5, A6, A7 and 609 certifications preferred; full-time with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• 3–5 years related experience or technical training.
• ASE A4 and A5 certifications required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test vehicles and perform preventive maintenance.
• Communicate findings and necessary repairs to customers.
• Mentor junior Auto Service Techs 1 and 2.
• Perform tire services, alignments, and oil changes.
• Maintain shop equipment and safety practices.
• Assist with phones and front counter as needed.

Job Title: Auto Service Tech Level 3

Reports to:Store Manager (or similar position)

Job Type: Full time

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, replacing filters, and fluid exchanges.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completed vehicle inspection every time and communicates to the front counter the items that may need to be repaired.
• Consistently Inspect and recommend needed repairs and/or services using the vehicles inspection report.
  • Proper completion of Vehicle Inspection Report
• Mentors other Auto Service Techs 1 and 2.
• Perform vehicle alignments according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Responsible for maintaining shop equipment and safety practices.
• Detect and perform mechanical issues, installation and repairs to brake, steering, suspension, transmission etc.
• Service customer vehicles according to Commercial Tires guidelines.
• Recommend products and services as needed.
• Able to quote repairs.
• May initiate purchase orders for parts; support and track purchasing and returns.
• Completes all necessary training within 1 year and is required to maintain certifications.
  • ASE A7 – Heat and Air Systems or 609 AC
  • ASE A6 – Electrical Systems
• 609 AC certification is required for air conditioning service repair.
• Participates in and completes all required training (example: Valvoline, TIA, safety, etc.).
• Supports company safety and operational standards and adheres to all audit requirements.
• Assist with phones, front counter, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – Required.

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• 3 to 5 years related experience and/or technical training.
• ASE certification A4 and A5

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Demands:
