Job summary

Commercial Tire Inc in Idaho is seeking an Auto Service Tech - Level 2 to inspect and test vehicles, perform preventive maintenance such as tire rotations, alignments, oil changes and fluid exchanges, and communicate repair needs to the front desk.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of automotive experience preferred.
• ASE A5 – Brakes or ASE G1.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test vehicles and perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Complete tire rotations, alignments, oil changes and fluid exchanges.
• Repair and replace brakes and related components; communicate needs to the front desk.
• Assist with safety, inventory and customer service duties as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Auto Service Technician 2 is responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, replacing filters, and fluid exchanges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completed vehicle inspection every time and communicates to the front counter the items that may need to be repaired.
• Consistently Inspect and recommend needed repairs and/or services using the vehicles inspection report.
  • Proper completion of Vehicle Inspection Report
• Able to perform the following according to manufactures specifications:
• Vehicle alignments according to manufacturer’s specifications
• Performs vehicle Flushes.
• Able to repair and replace Brakes.
• Oil Changes / Air Filters
• Changing, repairing, and replacing tires ensures proper torquing on all jobs.
• Recommend products and services when needed.
• Support and track purchasing and returns.
• Supports company safety and operational standards and adheres to all audit requirements.
• Completes all necessary training and maintains certifications (or equivalent i.e., Ford).
• ASE Training A4 – Steering and Suspension – within 1 year of being in this position.
• 609 AC certification is required for air conditioning service repair.
• Completes jobs in a timely manner and communicates when there are items that will take longer.
• Assist with phones, front counter, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – Required.

• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years
• 1-2 years of experience
• ASE A5 – Brakes or ASE G1.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Demands:

• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces
• Frequent lifting/carrying: up to 50 lbs
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity
• Constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required
• Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
• Occasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments
• Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment and moving objects

• Computer and Keyboard
• Tire machines, compressors, air tools and hand tools
• Company-provided software and system for work orders and inventory
• Required to use protective gear (PPE)
