Job summary

Fleet Farm in Rapid City is seeking an Auto Service Advisor to greet customers, determine vehicle needs, verify warranty coverage, develop estimates and create repair orders, while delivering superior customer service.

Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling service, learning Fleet Farm’s tires, parts and accessories, promoting auto products, and assisting with basic maintenance tasks. A flexible schedule and lifting up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a customer-focused role is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
• Experience in auto service/mechanical setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones promptly and courteously; announce service specials and offers.
• Schedule service appointments for customers.
• Develop service estimates by costing materials, supplies and labor; calculate customer payment.
• Establish working knowledge of Fleet Farm’s tires, parts and accessories.
• Promote and sell automotive products and services that meet customer needs.
• Occasionally perform basic maintenance tasks (oil changes, fluid checks, battery installs).
• Assist customers with questions and issues; provide superior customer service.
• Assist in preparations for events and promotions.
• Promote Fleet Farm loyalty program and credit offerings.
• Ensure all services are completed with a high degree of quality.
