Genuine Parts Company in California's Hesperia region operates an NAPA retail store with Assistant Store Manager leading daily operations, coaching staff, and maintaining customer-facing sales responsibilities.

This developmental role supports the Store Manager across functions, oversees inventory, scheduling, safety, and performance metrics while ensuring top-notch service and efficient store execution. Overtime may be required; keyholder duties possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or automotive parts environment is a plus.
• Proven leadership and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage operations and inventory processes.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales, inventory health, and team performance.
• Influence direct reports and labor planning impact.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships in-store, by phone, and with dealers.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Oversee opening/closing routines including security, cash, and end-of-day reports.
• Handle administrative tasks: scheduling, compliance, reporting, and basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor store metrics (sales, inventory turns, customer satisfaction, cleanliness, labor efficiency).
• Provide leadership, training, and performance management for store functions.
• Support talent development: coaching and mentoring for advancement.
• Drive safety, asset protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
