Job summary

NAPA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Wayland, IA to lead daily store operations while maintaining a strong customer focus. You will support the Store Manager, supervise team performance, and ensure top-notch service across in-store and dealer channels.

Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive aftermarket service industry or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience is required.
• Strong customer care and ability to build long-term relationships.
• Thrives in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Knowledge of cataloging/inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs when needed.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Oversee opening and closing routines, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, and facility readiness.
• Handle administrative tasks: scheduling input, compliance, performance tracking, basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor core store metrics and solve problems to improve outcomes.
• Provide leadership, training, and performance management for store functions.
• Support talent development and mentor successors for advancement.
• Drive safety, asset protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
