Salary: $53,726.82 - $68,533.30

Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is seeking motivated Automotive Technicians to perform journey-level mechanical work in repair, service, maintenance, and specialized installations of automobiles, motorcycles, and related equipment. Performs related duties as assigned. This recruitment will establish an 18-month eligibility list to fill current and future vacancies. Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires one (1) year of journey-level experience in maintenance, repair, and service of gas and/or diesel motorized equipment.
• Experience may be required specifically on automobiles or motorcycles, depending on departmental needs.

Additional Requirements:

• Must supply and maintain personal tool inventory.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver license.
• May be required to travel and be on-call for emergencies.
• May be required to testify in legal hearings.
• Some positions may require a motorcycle operator license.
• May need to pass ASE certification tests within specified timeframes.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• May be required to move items up to 50 pounds.
• May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, outdoor weather, moving parts, and noise.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Applicants must complete an examination process, polygraph, and background investigation.
• Pre-employment drug testing is required.
• Driver’s license and E-Verify compliance are mandatory.
