Position Summary

The General Service Technician must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to perform basic automotive services including mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, oil changes, vehicle inspections, and other less technical services while delivering an excellent customer experience. Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas in the tire and service department. The technician may also advise and sell automotive services and repairs to customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical.
2. Participate in formal training to stay updated with automotive technology.
3. Change engine oil and filters.
4. Perform tire maintenance and repairs.
5. Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
6. Replace headlights and small bulbs.
7. Repair flat tires.
8. Install wiper blades.
9. Assist in stocking and unloading tires.
10. Support fellow technicians in technical activities.
11. Report mechanical issues to management.
12. Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
13. Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Valid driver’s license.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and motivated to succeed.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Successful background check.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Requires extensive standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting over 100 pounds. May work outdoors in various weather conditions. Must have good vision and hearing. Noise level is moderate.
