Job summary

Staples Promotional Products – a division of Staples is seeking a folding/packing operator to support our production line in packaging screen-printed apparel and related products. The role focuses on accurate folding, packing, and labeling while maintaining high-quality print standards.

You will operate an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer, count materials, and coordinate with a teammate to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Read and count with basic math.
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Stand and/or walk for three hours at a time.
• Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
• Prior experience with an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer.

Responsibilities

• Operate an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer to fold and package screen-printed products.
• Review work orders and package accurately, efficiently, and safely with minimal errors.
• Accurately count and pack products into boxes or totes for shipping or warehouse storage.
• Verify counts against the machine counter; research and resolve discrepancies.
• Document work order information on packing materials and attach travelers with shipping/tracking info.
• Work with a partner to process orders, sharing duties after each order.
• Repeat the folding and packaging process for each new order in a cyclical production environment.

Pay: This is a Piece Rate position starting at $19.00/Hourly

Shift Hours: 6:00am-3:30pm/Monday-Thursday and 6:00am-12:00pm/Friday

What you’ll be doing:

• Operate an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer to fold and package screen-printed products, such as t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, and shorts.
• Review work orders and package products accurately, efficiently, and safely with minimal errors.
• Accurately count and pack products into boxes for shipping or totes for warehouse storage.
• Verify counts against the automatic folding machine counter; research and resolve discrepancies.
• Document work order information on the outside of packing materials and attach travelers, such as shipping and tracking information, when needed.
• Work with a partner to process orders, sharing and alternating duties after each work order is completed.
• Repeat the folding and packaging process for each new work order in a cyclical production environment.

What you bring to the table:

• Ability to read and comprehend a work order
• Detail oriented to ensure high-quality print standards are met and to ensure work orders are accurately filled and packaged with correct materials
• Skills in troubleshooting and solving problems
• Able to utilize pallet jack to move full pallets to next work area. Brings back an empty pallet for the next work order

What’s Needed – Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Abie to maintain accurate counts utilizing basic math skills
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs
• Able to stand and/or walk continuously for three hours at a time
• Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications).
