Job summary

Staples Promotional Products, a division of Staples, is seeking a folding and packaging associate in Orange City, IA. This piece-rate position starts at $19.00 per hour with shifts 6:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Thursday, and 6:00am–12:00pm on Fridays.

You will operate an automatic folding machine and an L-bar sealer, review work orders, count and pack items, and prep shipments. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic English, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Stand and/or walk for three hours at a time.
• Basic English language skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Operate an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer to fold and package products.
• Review work orders and package accurately, efficiently, and safely.
• Count and pack products into boxes for shipping or storage.
• Verify counts and research discrepancies as needed.
• Document work order information and attach travelers when required.
• Collaborate with a partner to process orders and rotate duties.
• Repeat folding/packing in a cyclical production environment.

Pay: This is a Piece Rate position starting at $19.00/Hourly

Shift Hours: 6:00am-3:30pm/Monday-Thursday and 6:00am-12:00pm/Friday

What you’ll be doing:

• Operate an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer to fold and package screen-printed products, such as t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, and shorts.

• Review work orders and package products accurately, efficiently, and safely with minimal errors.

• Accurately count and pack products into boxes for shipping or totes for warehouse storage.

• Verify counts against the automatic folding machine counter; research and resolve discrepancies.

• Document work order information on the outside of packing materials and attach travelers, such as shipping and tracking information, when needed.

• Work with a partner to process orders, sharing and alternating duties after each work order is completed.

• Repeat the folding and packaging process for each new work order in a cyclical production environment.

What you bring to the table:

• Ability to read and comprehend a work order

• Detail oriented to ensure high-quality print standards are met and to ensure work orders are accurately filled and packaged with correct materials

• Skills in troubleshooting and solving problems

• Able to utilize pallet jack to move full pallets to next work area. Brings back an empty pallet for the next work order

What’s Needed – Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Abie to maintain accurate counts utilizing basic math skills
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs
• Able to stand and/or walk continuously for three hours at a time

• Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications).

• Prior experience with an automatic folding machine and L-bar sealer including their uses and adjustments
