Job summary

Zurich North America seeks an Underwriter Specialist to manage a portfolio of franchised auto dealer accounts, evaluating exposures, pricing, and terms in line with guidelines. You will handle new business and renewals with sound risk judgment and documented decisions.

This role partners with Sales, Operations and internal teams to drive growth, retention and portfolio profitability while mentoring peers and maintaining strong distributor relationships.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 1+ year in Insurance/Market Facing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry, regulatory environment and underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, rating manuals, and insurance regulations.
• Collaborate with Line of Business representatives and other business needs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) for retention and acquisition.
• Support sales culture by acting as Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
• Seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and business opportunities.
• Make broker/customer on-site calls with a clear purpose.
• Mentor team members.
