First Chicago Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Claims Call Center Specialist to join our growing Claims team. You will serve as a knowledgeable first point of contact for insureds, claimants, attorneys, carriers, and other parties reporting or inquiring about claims.

You will accurately gather and document loss information, assist callers in navigating the claims process, and provide support to claims adjusters and the broader Claims department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous customer service experience is required.
• Prior experience in insurance, claims, or a high-volume call center is preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and phone skills are required.
• Data entry and typing proficiency of at least 30 WPM.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic service to callers.
• Receive and document initial reports of accidents and losses accurately.
• Gather detailed loss information and ensure documentation is complete.
• Review policy information and note potential coverage concerns.
• Guide customers through the claims process and answer questions.
• Refer insureds for estimates when appropriate.
• Route claims to the correct unit based on loss details.
• Assist adjusters by providing timely information and support.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
• Process tow bills, police reports, claim payments, and other admin tasks.
