First Chicago Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Claims Call Center Specialist to join our growing Claims team. You will serve as the first point of contact for insureds, claimants, attorneys, carriers, and other parties.

You will gather loss information, guide customers through the claims process, and support claims adjusters with timely information. This role requires strong customer service, judgment, and the ability to manage diverse, fast-paced interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in insurance, claims, or high-volume call center preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and phone skills required.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Data entry and 30 WPM typing proficiency required.
• Proficiency with PC applications and ability to navigate multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, empathetic service to insureds, claimants, attorneys, carriers, and other callers.
• Receive and document initial reports of accidents and losses.
• Gather detailed loss information and ensure documentation is complete.
• Review policy information and recognize potential coverage concerns for referral.
• Guide customers through the claims process and answer questions.
• Refer insureds/claimants for estimates when appropriate.
• Route claims and calls to appropriate units.
• Support adjusters with timely information.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
