Role Description

The Auto CAD Detailer Dimension Stone role is a full-time hybrid position based in North Kingstown, RI, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Auto CAD Detailer will create accurate shop drawings and details for dimension stone fabrication using CAD software, ensuring compliance with architectural plans, engineering specifications, and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting construction documents, developing detailed stone layouts, labeling and dimensioning individual pieces, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to resolve design questions. The role involves revising drawings based on field measurements or change orders, maintaining organized drawing files, and collaborating with production staff to ensure drawings are practical and efficient for fabrication and installation. The Auto CAD Detailer will also support quality control by reviewing drawings for accuracy, consistency, and constructability, and may occasionally communicate with clients or site personnel to clarify design requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Communication, to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Attention to detail and experience with Exterior design or finishing work, supporting accurate dimension stone detailing and installation coordination.
• Ability to apply Auto Detailing–style precision and care to technical drawings, ensuring exact measurements, labeling, and documentation.
• General reliability and task ownership comparable to maintaining high standards in Car Wash or maintenance environments, reflecting strong work ethic and consistency.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software, with experience in architectural or structural detailing; dimension stone or masonry detailing experience is highly preferred.
• Understanding of construction documents, architectural plans, and shop drawing conventions, including reading blueprints and applying building codes where relevant.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting, coordinating onsite collaboration with remote tasks, and maintaining clear communication with the North Kingstown, RI team.
